Welcome to Lotus, an iOS app for daily gratitude. We respect your privacy and commit to protecting all the information that concerns you.
This privacy policy describes how the Lotus app collects, uses, and protects your data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French law.
2. Data stored on your device
All the data you create inside Lotus is stored exclusively on your device. This data includes:
- Your gratitude journal entries (text, titles, notes)
- The photos you choose to attach to your entries
- Your progress statistics and usage data
- Your unlocked badges and achievements
- Your weekly positivity review scores
- Your preferences and personalised settings
- The time configured for your daily reminders
This data never transits through our servers. We have no technical access to it.
3. What we do not collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Your identification data (first name, last name, postal address)
- Your email address or phone number
- Your geographic location
- Your biometric data
- Your contacts or data from other apps
- Your browsing history or behavioural data
- Any information allowing you to be personally identified
4. Push notifications
If you enable daily reminders in Lotus, the app will request permission to send push notifications to your device.
These notifications are generated and displayed locally on your device, without passing through any external server. They contain no personal data and are not used for tracking purposes.
You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings β Notifications β Lotus.
5. Third-party services and analytics
To date, no third-party analytics or tracking service is integrated into the Lotus app.
If this were to change, we would inform you via an app update and an update to this policy, and we would make sure that any third-party service meets the strictest data protection standards.
6. Security of your data
Your data benefits from native iOS protection:
- Encrypted storage: iOS encrypts app data through Data Protection
- App isolation: the iOS sandbox prevents any other app from accessing your Lotus data
- Authentication protection: if your device is protected by Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, so is your data
- No remote access: we have no backend that could access your data
7. Your rights (GDPR)
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access β Your data is directly viewable in the app, at any time
- Right to rectification β You can modify or delete any entry directly in Lotus
- Right to erasure β Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all your local data
- Right to portability β A data export feature is under development
- Right to object β You can disable notifications at any time in iOS settings

8. iCloud backup
If you use iCloud backup on your device, Lotus data may be included in your iCloud backups, in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. This is managed entirely by Apple and outside our control.
You can exclude Lotus from iCloud backup in Settings β [your name] β iCloud β iCloud Backup β Lotus.
9. Minors
The Lotus app is not intended for children under 13. We do not intentionally collect any data from people under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. In case of a significant change, you will be informed via an in-app notification or an App Store update.
The current version is always available on this page. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the document.
